Hi, I'm James.

I've enjoyed a diverse set of employments that have built up a suite of useful skills.

I like to see myself as a jack-of-all-trades, being able to adapt to a variety of work environments that require a multitude of different skills.

So, what can I do?

ESOL Teacher

I'm a qualified CertTESOL teacher (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and have enjoyed employments both in the classroom and online.

Graphic Design

I'm comfortable in the Adobe Suite, have used Figma, Sketch and other programs. I've designed multiple printed brochures, posters and graphics used online.

Online Media

Part of my first full-time employment involved running the social media accounts for a record label; I grew Facebook likes to over 30,000 (from ~ 3000) and grew income from YouTube to ~ $3500 per month (from $0).

Web Design & Development

I completed a General Assembly Front-End Web Design course and am well versed in HTML, CSS and Javascript as well as online site builders such as Wordpress or Shopify.

Video Editing & Animation

Using Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut Pro, I'm able to put together a nicely edited video telling a compelling story, with text overlays and basic 3D animation.

Audio Editing

A hobby of mine is making electronic music in my spare time. If there's ever a task that involves audio, I'll be able to sort something out.

Events

I used to run the operations of a Silent Disco events company in Hong Kong. I would plan, organised and manage the events which were all across the city.

Copywriting

Past employments have required me to do some writing, e.g. for newsletters, brochures and social media so I'm comfortable getting a bit of copy together.

Technology

I seem to have a knack for all things tech related and can pick up knowledge very quickly. New technologies come fast and I'm able to adapt just as quick.
